Additional Speakers:

Description:

Attendees at this session will gain a better understanding of how this new information literacy resource can augment the way they currently teach effective information literacy and research skills. ProQuest Research Companion offers a new foundation and companion to the one-shot sessions, thereby allowing librarians and educators to focus on teaching the more complex research and writing principles.

Unlike other information literacy products, ProQuest Research Companion harnesses the power of the unique data repositories from Ulrich’s and Books in Print to provide answers and context to students’ most commonly-asked research questions. Presented in an easy-to-use and collaborative format, Research Companion can be effortlessly incorporated into the student researcher’s workflow to get to answers and context quickly.

Recently released, ProQuest Research Companion, is a cloud-based, intuitive, and self-guided product that supports information literacy, writing, and research skills instruction occurring in today’s libraries, classrooms, and online learning environments.

ProQuest Research Companion will invigorate library and classroom instruction by automating the basic parts of the research process allowing students to move more quickly to spend more time on what interests them most.  Through a combination of modules and innovative tools covering the range of the research process, ProQuest Research Companion will be well received by instruction librarians, educators, and students.
